A New Cranney Classic: Pippi Longstocking
I remember seeing one portrayal of Pippi Longstocking in some tv show or cartoon once when I was a kid and had no interest. But when the boys found it at the library with illustrations by Lauren Child, we brought it home. It was an instant success! Simeon is still too young for some of the humor, but will listen and loves the illustrations--but Christian adores it. We finished it easily within three days and now he's begging for the second and third books. So creative, fresh, and magical.

I remember reading Pippi Longstocking when I was young. It's such a classic! I'd love to see these illustrations and read it again. I'll have to check it out from the library this week.
