Do not go gentle into that good night...

The poem below by Dylan Thomas has always been one of my favorites, but tonight as we were trying to put Christian and Simeon to bed Rachel mentioned that she thinks some of these stanzas might have not been talking about death but children's bedtimes:

1
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

2
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lighning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

6
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
