I dressed Christian in 12 month clothing today!!! Of course that might just be because I haven't done his wash recently (and no, I'm not going to define recently for you).

At his six month check up yesterday he was in the 25th percentile for about everything. All I can say, is that I'm satisfied he has finally got a few fat rolls, though I still wouldn't mind a few more---so I guess that makes me not satisfied?

Christian has been especially giggly lately. We think its because he has a brand new Bird/Cranney cousin. Don't you love the accidental color coordinating outfits of the parents and sons? I think all three of these cousins can't wait until a certain July 1st when they will be joined by an Oma, Opa, three uncles and an aunt.

Sorry about the repeat picture from Carl's blog, we'll try and get new ones soon.

Man's search for money . . I mean meaning

We're not always sure how we became the money obsessed people we are. It's probably a combination of classes from Richard Johnson (which we both had as a professor), family, and nature. Either way, Stephen and I care alot about money. Its not that we're obsessed with money itself, rather what purposes it is used. That said, we're probably not always the best stewards with our money, especially lately. There's something about medical bills that make saving a dollar here and there seem utterly insignificant. Anyway the purpose of this blog post is to get ideas from you my our readers on what you do (big or small) to save money and/or be good stewards of money.
Ideas?

To two wonderful mamas

WE love you!!!!!

Happy Mountain Mama day!

Curry attempts

So this is my latest attempt at cooking. It ended up looking better than it tasted because I put too much turmeric (in an attempt to ward of Alzheimer's) and it could have been sweeter. I know, I know, you wonder how I could have been so desperate to cook. Well, let's just if I'm going to learn how to cook, I want to learn how to cook good food. I've got a ways to go still, but aren't you proud? This is my 4th or 5th attempt at curry, but I have yet to make it taste like Jaspir Chahal's. I invited my parents down for dinner. The smiles are because no one has yet tasted the curry.

"Gibst du mir dein Frühstück!"

That Cranney:

Kumquat can now do the potato bug roll. It's adorable to see him scoot his little bum in the air to get leverage.

We've decided that now Kumquat is big enough to sleep through the night, we ought to consider using that contraption called a crib. Horror stories about teenagers still sleeping with their parents kind of helped us in this decision. I'm wondering how long we can hold out. I give it an hour, maybe two.

Them Cranneys:

I've since cut Stephen's hair and he looks like a little Hitler youth. I'm tempted to shout commands at him in German and see if he obeys.

p.s. Confession: I guess Stephen and I are actually as close as two people can be to being the same height at a mere 6'2. What a disappointment. The only thing that can cheer me up at this point is the German Coast Guard.
